My morning routine for 2020

Over the last few years there has been much written on the importance of establishing a morning routine. I would agree that to be proactive and not reactive in the first moments after waking will help set the stage for starting the day on the front foot. Having a plan to cherish this waking time will harness your energy and direct it in the best direction for growth.
I personally love to incorporate some mindfulness, movement, writing, and cold in my morning routine. For the last 6 years my morning routine has varied including meditation, yoga, running, swimming, reading, writing, a plant based breakfast, and always a cold shower. For 2020 I wanted to simplify down the basis of my morning routine then build around it depending on my day and what events I have coming up. For every day in 2020 I will start with 5-10min of meditation (I use the HEADSPACE app), and then perform 50 push-ups (Jan 3 - so far so good). This will be my new year morning pillar. Some days I will follow this with a barefoot beach run and a sea dip, other days will be a swim, or even 30min of writing on an article or a blog post.
What do you want to move towards in 2020? Who do you want to become? The morning is the perfect time to put some action to your motion. We all have different schedules, and goals but we ALL are given the same amount of time. Please don't use the excuse "I don't have time" - You do. It's just a question of priorities. Lets ALL make time to move towards the best version of us my using the morning time to put shape to our vision.
